SOPA - it ain’t about the Pirates

It’s the precursor to the government relieving us of further unalienable rights. With the eventual power to control and monitor - their ability to obtain one bill at a time will be accelerated without opposition. Activist groups (or any of the informed) will be dissuaded from organizing online and doing what was achieved, for example, with the SOPA strike.  SOPA may have been shelved - but how long until the people become complacent again and ignore it being dusted off? Even if that is not a concern - where one bill has been struck down, 2 have appeared. Weeds. We are in the weeds and what you can do is pay attention. They are paving the way to control access to news, truths, and unpopular opinion. This is only the first big step (following years of small unnoticed positioning) and is yet to be followed by increasingly bolder steps.

is it weird?

that i find sublime joy in staring someone in the eye. to find out what it is that makes them most uncomfortable. and nobly deliver this thought/answer/anecdote without remorse or excuse and watch them squirm? i don’t have societal restraints. and i am no threat - but to see their reaction when i break out of the boundaries they were bred into? oh lawd - i am but a mountain of giggles.

live the life of a legend - or live?

I can’t help but ruminate on this. And yes, i’m going to talk ab Amy Winehouse. But i am posing a question ya’ll.

If she knew that she’d be dead at 27 would she change it? This man, blake fielder-whatever-the-fuck, pulled her into a world of self defacement. Yes, she was an addict, but no - she was not falling hopeless without the strength of arms to catch herself. Until she fell for him. So if she could go back in time and tell the girl pictured below (the one on the left)… 

“Stay away from Blake, he will have you dead. at 27.”

Would she? You see, he was the inspiration for Back from Black which vaulted her into international eyes and ears. Her back to basics soul changed our pop-oblivion charged music charts forever. No matter all the shit and skeez talked about her - she was great. And her album(s) will be listened to for many years (decades?).

She made music as a healthy sober girl - just nothing that made so much as a brief stint overseas.

So if she could choose… would she choose to live a long and satisfied life without making a dent - or die a young, somewhat legend, without enjoying but a bit of it (and being remembered as that other girl in the pictures)?

Someone at work just asked me what i do for fun (first of all who asks that question?) & I replied - 

“Drink, smoke & ride motorcycles”

being my blonde-self wearing an almost too short skirt & pumps at work we both laughed at this reply.

Until i realized it was the truth - then i pummeled him with a tire iron.
